A naturalistic paradise in Otranto
It is said that it is precisely here that the Turkish warriors landed during a bloody siege that took place against the city of Otranto in the XV century.
Sandy and uncontaminated, the bay belongs to the precious protected Oasis of the Alimini Lakes, one of the most important ecosystems of Salento and Puglia. Overall, the Baia dei Turchi looks a lot like a Caribbean beach, due to its colours and the beauty of its sea.
In January 2009, the FAI (Fondo Ambiente Italiano) inserted this amazing spot to 12th national place (first in the Puglia region) in the ranking of places of the heart.
It is located a few kilometers north of Otranto.
