It’s time for a cool bath

Along the east coast of Salento that goes from Otranto to Santa Maria di Leuca, Cala dell’Acquaviva is a pleasant discovery. It is a fjord wedged between Castro and Marina Marittima, it is a few tens of meters long and characterized by rich vegetation and rocks that slope down to the sea. The cold water springs give the name to this small cove where you will find cooler water than elsewhere. Transparency, thermal conditions and a rocky seabed depend on the continuous flow of cold water that flows into the sea here.

the bay also offers some services, including a small car park and a bar, located a few meters from the coast.

A visit to this place is particularly recommended on days when the sea is rough: the natural cove mitigates the waters, allowing numerous baths even on the most windy days.
